Herb & Honey Baked Brie

Herb & Honey
Baked Brie

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (8 ounce) wheel of brie

  • 3 fresh cloves garlic (diced)

  • 1 teaspoon of Herbs de Blanco

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 2 tablespoons honey or lavender honey

  • Dash of lemon zest (1/2 teaspoon)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  2. Place the brie in a small, ovenproof baking dish that is just slightly bigger than the wheel of brie. Pierce the brie with a paring knife and make cuts in the brie.

  3. Place the garlic, butter, honey, Herbs de Blanco, and lemon zest in a saucepan. Heat until all ingredients are melted, while continually stirring. Once all are combined and melted, pour the prepared honey butter over the brie wheel.

  4. Cover the baking dish with a piece of foil and place it in the oven for about 15 -22 minutes for an 8-ounce wheel. (Make sure the brie is completely melted on the inside) When done, serve immediately with crostini or your choice or cracker or bread.

TIPS

• Allow the brie to sit at room temperature for at least 30-45 minutes before baking it. This ensures that the brie melts evenly in the oven.

• Make sure you don’t overcook to avoid brie solidifying or becoming hard.
• Lavender honey is available at our farm store in Blanco, Texas.
